MCS Charitable Foundation

MCS CF is a new charitable foundation overseen by an independent Board of Trustees.

Our vision is a world where everyone has access to affordable and reliable renewable energy and low carbon technologies – for the benefit of our environment, our communities and the UK public.

We will protect and conserve the environment, by increasing confidence and awareness amongst the UK public of the value of renewables and low carbon technology.

The MCS CF supports research, systems to improve health and safety issues, environmental and carbon savings and consumer understanding.  It provides support to consumers and the environment through education, knowledge transfer, skills and competency development and raising awareness in the renewable energy and low carbon technology sector.  It also supports the development of industry standards and guidance in this sector.

We are now seeking a Chief Executive to provide operational and strategic leadership for the organisation.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual who excels at working with people and organisations and with knowledge or experience of the renewables and low carbon technology sector.  Working with the board of trustees you will have the opportunity to develop the strategic direction of the charity.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

  • Senior strategic and operational experience with the voluntary sector and a background in grant giving
  • Experience of working at a senior management level, including reporting to a Trustee Board/voluntary sector governing body
  • Financially astute with a proven track record of budget holding and cost management
  • Excellent networking and communications skills and proven ability to develop and sustain relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders
  • Political acumen and awareness of the changing policy environment
