Growth & Communities Co-ordinator - Various Locations
girlguiding

Job Description

Could you help us to inspire more people to volunteer with us, help move girls off our waiting lists by opening new Girlguiding groups and reach out to new and under-represented communities to grow our girl membership?

Girlguiding offers amazing opportunities for girls and young women to discover their potential. Our volunteers are vital in inspiring and supporting girls to become the young women they want to be. We have an exciting new opportunity within our Growth and Insight team to expand our volunteer base and girl membership, by opening more guiding groups so that even more girls can have fun, make friends, enjoy new adventures and grow in confidence.

Girlguiding have three fantastic roles one based in Leicestershire & Derbyshire, one based in West Mercia and the other based in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire West.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate experience recruiting and working with volunteers or with people in unpaid roles in the community. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of outreach/engagement, as well as experience of planning and facilitating meetings, organising events and managing small projects. You will be able to show an understanding of the motivation of volunteers and the challenges involved in recruiting, training and retaining volunteers, particularly amongst under-represented communities. The role requires flexibility and multi-tasking, as well as the confidence to work independently, and as part of a fun, busy and productive national team.

Substantial evening and weekend working is required for which time-off-in-lieu can be taken. Travel within the counties you are working in will be required, therefore a full clean driving licence and use of your own car is essential for the role. This is a full-time position (35hrs) with opportunities for flexible working. The option of homeworking may also be available.

Girlguiding values the differences that a diverse workforce brings and is committed to inclusivity, and to employing and supporting a diverse workforce. Girlguiding is proud to be part of the stonewall diversity champions programme, a member of the business disability forum, and a member of time to change – improving attitudes towards mental health. While Girlguiding’s young members may be female only, our staff team is mixed gender. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability (physical or mental), gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and belief, sex, and sexual orientation.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
