Deputy Director of National Operations

 Location: National – UK Wide

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Permanent Contract

Salary: £50,000 per annum

Migrant Help is a leading charity that has been established for over 50 years and delivers a range of support and advice services to migrants across the UK. Our vision is for a global society that protects migrants, treats them with respect and enables them to become successful members of their communities. Migrant Help Trading Limited is the trading subsidiary of the charity, which runs an interpretation and translation service as a social enterprise.

We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Director of National Operations position with specialist experience and knowledge of Victims of Slavery Support Services (VSSS), Potential Victims of Trafficking and Modern Day Slavery.

This vacancy is open to both internal and external candidates.

The Role:

This role is senior in nature and forms part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), which reports directly to the National Operations Director. The post holder is required to provide effective leadership, plan, direct and coordinate the front-line service delivery throughout the United Kingdom, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The post-holder is expected to contribute to the overall success and sustainability of Migrant Help and will specifically:

  1. develop, manage and lead on strategies on areas of specialism Victims of Slavery Support Service (VSSS) including Modern Day Slavery, Anti-Trafficking and Potential Victims of Trafficking,
  2. manage and develop partnerships with devolved Government, including knowledge of legislative difference, contract negotiation and stakeholder engagement,
  3. ensure the operational delivery of all services on a national and regional basis.

The Deputy Director will be responsible for managing and leading the teams, ensuring that all performance targets and measures relating to internal KPIs are met. He/she will also review and develop services and systems to meet those objectives.

The post holder will liaise with significant partners and stakeholders to ensure business development and continuity and will manage and control the Change Control Process for Migrant Help.

The Requirements:

The post holder will have proven experience in leadership and development within the VSSS environment. They will have an excellent ability to communicate with diverse groups and stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally in various mediums. The ability to problem solve, innovate and utilise appropriate methods to build a cohesive team is essential.

The successful candidate will be flexible in approach and have a willingness to travel as required.
