Job Description

The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families supports distressed children and their families through innovative therapeutic practice and research, training and promoting awareness of mental health issues.

In early 2019 the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families will be moving to its new £39m National Centre for Excellence. This move represents a major change for us and we will be seeking to generate the public recognition that our world-class research, innovative therapeutic practice and training deserves.

To do this we need a media officer to help grow awareness of our work. You will have the creativity to generate interest in media and social media and the capacity to translate the work we do into compelling messages. You will be highly organised and flexible, able to turn your hand to simplifying complex issues without compromising the integrity of our work; you will know how to make headlines and support fundraising drives. You will have contacts in the mainstream media and the skills and knowledge to grow our social media footprint. You will have the nous and diplomacy to get things done and you will know how to mobilise stakeholder support when we need it. In other words, you will be exceptional. That’s why we want you.

Hours:

35 hours per week - 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday

(Some evening and/or weekend work may be required, time off in lieu will be given)
