Job Description

Northamptonshire ACRE is a countywide charity working alongside rural communities to help reduce rural isolation and vulnerability. We support and advise Parish Councils, community groups, village halls and shops on a wide range of topics and encourage local action and participation in decision-making through grass roots community development.Rural communities are our passion!

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative individual with a strong knowledge of community development and rural issues to work on our Big Lottery funded Rural Wellbeing Service. This is a fixed term post until the end of March 2019. The post is for 28 hours a week, reporting to the Chief Executive.  It is based at our office in Northampton but involves working across the rural areas of the county, for which you must have a driving licence and access to a car. Mileage is paid.

The role involves visiting rural communities across Northamptonshire with our Lottery funded mobile Wellbeing unit, delivering advice/support to older people and signposting them to additional services where required. You will also support rural communities to implement a network of Good Neighbour Schemes to continue the delivery of advice and support to older people within their community and help them develop new services where identified.

An understanding of the role of the voluntary sector and experience of partnership working is essential. Experience of project delivery and good communication skills are required along with an ability to prioritise your own work load. This is a very rewarding role working with a great team.
