house project national hub

Job Description

Our Vision: Building sustainable homes and a community of support with young people leaving care enabling them to have a positive future

Trustees

The House Project National Hub (Hub) is a new charity – with projected Charity Commission approval and incorporation for September 2018.  A winning combination of social care and therapeutic expertise, youth participation and commercial ‘know how’ helping health and social care services and young people leaving care, achieve successful independence.

The Hub aspires to become a centre of excellence, supporting the roll out of House Projects across the UK.  It’s a collaborative business in which adults and young people in and leaving care work together to enable young people to refurbish void properties, manage their own homes and change lives.

The House Project vision is supported and currently financed in the short term by the Department for Education.

The Hub

  • Supports young people to achieve their goals
  • Helps Local Authorities become the best ‘Corporate Parents’
  • Demonstrates value whilst integrating early intervention and behaviour change
  • Improves health and social care outcomes for young people
  • Works with young people ensuring they own and have pride in the solutions they create for themselves

We are seeking new Trustees to join our Board of Trustees.  This is a great opportunity to influence strategy and develop solutions to the plight of homelessness for care leavers

This is an opportunity to help shape the future of a charity whose work is transforming the lives of young people in and leaving care.

We are looking for trustees who are interested and committed to the vision and values of the House Project and would like to join a dynamic Board. You will have governance responsibility for ensuring the charity has a clear strategic direction, financially secure, well-run with thorough safeguarding procedures in place and delivering the charitable outcomes for the benefit of the public for which it has been set up.

In line with our equal opportunities policy we welcome the widest possible range of expressions of interest in order to increase the diversity of our Board. We are particularly interested in applications from people with a background and experience in the following areas:

  • Business planning and strategy
  • Corporate fund-raising
  • Financial and legal services
