Qualified Health IDVA TEAM LEADER - ESSEX £27 249 p.a. 37.5hrs/week Monday – Sunday Shifts between 8am to 10pm (Fixed Term contract subject to review on 31 May 2018)

We a have full time Health IDVA Team Leader – Hospital position overseeing 3 hospitals – PAH (Harlow), Broomfield (Chelmsford) & Southend Hospital.

The Health IDVA Team Leader – Hospital role involves being the single point of contact for the Health IDVA team and where required by line manager support Health IDVAs to provide a high-quality frontline service to victims of domestic abuse that delivers a service to those at the highest risk within the Hospital setting. Also, to participate in the implementation and delivery of the DAISY service model across the 3 hospital sites, developing the partnerships and work as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team. Deliver training and support aimed at improving the health, wellbeing and safety outcomes of people attending the department and their children.

This position requires that the applicants:

• Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.
• Have specialism within one of the following: languages, mental health, sexual violence, drugs and alcohol, legal or male victims.
• Have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse, including the impact on victims and their children, and the legal and practical remedies available to these clients.
• Understand and be experienced in managing child protection issues and procedures.
• Understand multi-agency partnerships and the legalities of information sharing in domestic violence cases.
• Hold a CAADA IDVA training certificate
• Have experience of working directly with victims of domestic violence within an IDVA team
• Have experience managing a caseload.
• Have computer literacy skills and have experience of working with databases.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
• Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
• Be a car driver.
