Job Description

We have full time two Programme Practitioner positions to cover Essex and Hertfordshire. One position is permanent and the other is a 1 Year Fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

Safer Places is an independent charity which provides a comprehensive range of services to adults and children affected by domestic and sexual abuse and family conflict who live in West Essex, North and East Hertfordshire and Southend. The people who use our services are at the heart of our organisation and we aim to work to enable them to overcome the impact of their experience and to build a brighter and safe future for themselves and their children.

Programme Practitioner Main Responsibilities 

The applicant should be able to deliver, and facilitate the delivery, of programmes to Safer Places clients, ensuring at all times the highest standards of practice in programme provision. In addition, the job need the applicant to ensure that services are delivered to the standard and quality expected by the Organisation. The job also entails:

  1. Contributing to the design of the programme schedule in partnership with other Safer Places colleagues.
  2. Ensuring that all programmes are evaluated at group and individual level and that both the programmes as a whole and the contribution they make to an individual client journey is effectively tracked.
  3. Working collaboratively with frontline staff in all areas in order to ensure effective delivery of the Safer Places service model.
  4. Working  in collaboration with children’s services to deliver a range of family programmes
  5. Dilivering DASH and other professional Domestic Abuse training for Safer Places and partners as agreed with the Line Manager.

Working Monday to Friday between 09:00 to 17:30 Covering all areas we work in Essex

Experience:

  • Proven experience delivering group programmes
  • Experience of working directly with vulnerable individuals
  • Proven experience of working alone and using own initiative
  • Proven experience of working with and developing effective partnerships

Knowledge and Skills:

  • An understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children
  • Able to form good relationships with clients whilst working within professional boundaries
  • Able to communicate effectively with a broad range of people
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft word, email and internet

Qualifications:

  • Existing training qualification or prepared to train in the delivery of required programmes

Personal Characteristics:

  • Able to motivate others and provide leadership within the service particularly in crisis situations
