Community Waltham Forest is seeking a Development Officer to provide practical support and advice to equip voluntary and community organisations with the skills and knowledge to effectively manage their organisations.

This varied and exciting post will enable voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises to become more skilled and confident in developing and implementing robust strategies and processes. The post-holder will provide intensive 1:1 support in all areas of organisational management, equipping them with the practical tools to become well-managed and financially sustainable.

You will have knowledge of the voluntary and community sector and be confident in providing organisational development support to voluntary and community organisations.

You will have a comprehensive knowledge of organisational management techniques and be confident in working with all size and types of organisations, from small community groups to large voluntary organisations and social enterprises.

The role is self-directed and requires a motivated and pro-active individual who both enjoys working on bespoke projects and as part of a multi-functional team.

This is a new service in Waltham Forest and there is a lot of scope to develop a service that is deeply rooted in the local VCSEs. The contract is managed by Community Southwark and the post holder will be part of a small team in Waltham Forest.

Terms and conditions

  • Salary: £28,771 per annum
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: Full-time (part-time and job share will be considered)
