SumOfUs is recruiting a Campaigner in the UK to help drive our work holding corporations accountable. If you’ve got an itch to tell the story of corporate power run amok; if you’ve got ideas about how to take on multinational corporations with a few thousand pounds and a gorilla suit; if you’re hungry to experiment with new technology to create and scale campaign, then this is the role for you.

This is a junior full-time position and we welcome applicants who are early in their campaigning work.

What you’ll do as part of our team

• Identify, research and develop campaigns targetings corporations around the world;
• Write action email alerts to engage and mobilise our members with strategic actions and a compelling narrative of corporate power;
• Coordinate with partners in the UK and around the world;
• Develop and implement strategic tactics to win campaigns and build our movement in the UK; and
• Other roles, as needed (we’re still a start up environment!).

Skills and experiences you’ll need to bring

We have no formal education requirements – if you take on the role and are willing to grow with it, that’s all that matters. All campaigns roles at SumOfUs require you to be:

• Multi-talented and willing to learn and do anything to see the job through;
• Comfortable in fast-moving work environments;
• Dedicated to building a fairer and more sustainable global economy;
• An excellent writer and communicator;
• An enthusiastic technologist and experimenter;
• Fluent in written and oral English.

And, this role in particular will require you to be:

• Familiar with the 38 Degrees/Avaaz/350 model of digital campaigning;
• A talented networker and relationship builder;
• Familiar with the UK political context; and
• Based in the UK.

Salary and benefits

Compensation is competitive and will be determined based on a combination of experience, seniority, and the living costs of the location you live in (for some context: for qualified applicants, this position in London will pay between approximately £27,500 to £31,000).

You may work remotely from anywhere in the UK, but with frequent visits to our London office. The successful candidate will be invited to our Staff International Meeting in mid May.
