Managing Director
national youth agency

Job Description

Closing date: Friday 24th February 2017

The NYA feels that the NYA mission gets more urgent every day: the choices and challenges facing young people get more demanding and the public funding to support them diminishes. It is vital that society continues to benefit from the energy and enthusiasm young people have, and who deserve an opportunity to participate in it. Therefore we’re seeking a Managing Director who brings insight and skills honed from their own experience in the youth sector, and who can help the NYA remain the national expert on youth policy and youth work, and help many more young people prepare for life.

The Managing Director will provide operational leadership to the National Youth Agency (NYA). The post holder will represent the NYA externally, at both public engagements and with partner organisations, and will help influence the national youth related policy agenda on the NYA’s behalf.

The Managing Director, along with senior support will work with the NYA Board of Trustees to develop new approaches to ensure sustainability, including activities which generate income and collaborative working with other similar organisations and ensure that the performance and profile of NYA is maintained at a high level.
