Job Description

This existing role is key in supporting the Volunteer Recruitment and Selection Manager with all activities relating to the effective Recruitment and Selection of volunteers within Samaritans.  This is an 18 month fixed term contract.

As a member of the Volunteering team, you will take a lead role in promoting the safe and effective involvement of volunteers.  You will do this by providing expert advice, information, guidance and support to branches, regions and nations, taking particular responsibility for supporting the organisation on recruitment and selection matters.  You will also ensure the effective recruitment and selection of all central charity volunteering roles, including facilitating the recruitment of trustees and senior volunteer roles.

As well as supporting best practice throughout the organisation, you will be working as part of a team to support safeguarding operations, ensuring the Volunteering Team provides an effective service to branches and manages organisational risk.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same.  To undertake this role, you will rely on your knowledge of safe, effective recruitment and volunteering management good practice. You will utilise this knowledge alongside your experience of providing advice, training and support on volunteering matters, throughout Samaritans.
