Job Description
Can you listen to, and respond sensitively to the hopes, fears, wishes and difficulties of older people who have been affected by cancer?
At Advocacy in Barnet we support anyone who is aged 50 or over living in the borough of Barnet and affected by cancer, whether they have cancer themselves or support someone who has.
We are looking for volunteers to enable people affected by Cancer to receive appropriate information and support at critical times, to empower them to make informed choices, and live the way they choose whilst undertaking their cancer journey.
As a volunteer, you will receive:
- Free training and ongoing development opportunities
- Free Disclosure and Barring Service check
- On-going support and supervision
- Travel expenses & lunch or lunch expenses (where applicable)
- Reference (after completing one year of volunteering)
