We are now recruiting for a Fundraising Officer - 18.5 hours a week (will include occasional evening work) on a 1 Year Fixed Term Contract with possility of being extended.

Mayfield Nurseries is a working plant nursery and a social enterprise located close to Southampton city centre within the walls of Mayfield Park, Weston. It is a wholly owned subsidiary charity of Solent Mind, the leading mental health charity across Hampshire. 

Through the sales of our high quality plants, shrubs and consumables it provides a place for people with mental health problems and learning disabilities to attend the nursery and develop skills and confidence to gain employment, volunteer, or make positive steps towards improving their mental health.

You will work alongside the Nursery Manager taking the lead in developing the voluntary income generation for Mayfield Nurseries linking in with the Solent Mind Business Development team.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing an annual programme of individual and corporate donor giving and fundraising events to achieve voluntary income targets as set out in the organisation fundraising strategy.
• Recruiting, retaining and training a team of volunteers to support fundraising activities

If you have excellent planning and organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure with complex and competing needs, and skills in establishing and developing fundraising initiatives alongside the ability to work both independently and collaboratively then this could be the role for you.
