Senior Programme Officer

Job Description

My client is a well-established and affluent health membership body based in the city of London. They are currently looking for an experienced and committed Senior Programme Officer to join their team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Project manage priorities within the programme concurrently, also with overall responsibility for the initial set up stages and the closure/end of tenure processes.  This includes responsibility for the production and maintenance of project management documentation and assisting the Programme Manager in using these tools to monitor and evaluate the impact of each project.
  • Ensuring relevant internal and external communications for projects in the programme are conducted in a timely fashion resulting in a strategic approach which promotes and disseminates the programme’s vision, aims and positive outcomes to the membership, wider member’s population, other organisations, patient organisations, government agencies, and key stakeholders and funding bodies.
  • Act as a public face of the department, nurturing links with external stakeholders, key decision makers and funding bodies as well as working closely with the Clinical Champions and the other parts of the organisation, such as Education, Communications, Commissioning and Fundraising.  
  • Financial oversight and budget management/financial reporting:
  • Responsible for monitoring the Priority Programme budget (which includes the individual budgets allocated to each Champion) and preparing accurate
  • Develop internal and external relationships, with a specific focus on faculties and regional offices, along with key partner and stakeholder organisations. Developing press and communications across all projects including ad hoc liaison with the press team when stories relevant to external stakeholders

Essential candidate criteria:

  • Project Management in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Meeting/Committee Management
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to deal tactfully and sensitively with a wide range of people including senior members of the health care professions, patients and commercial organisations
  • Working in partnership with governing bodies, membership organisations and the voluntary sector and coordinating messaging
  • Previous experience working within and delivering programmes
