Fundraising/Marketing Officer

Job Description

My client is a health charity with a fantastic strategic plan part of which is major growth and development over the coming year.  They are looking for a committed and energetic Fundraising Officer to join their dynamic team.

Key responsibilities:

  • To develop and deliver budgets, activity plans and timelines for a variety of fundraising activities including appeals, raffle, supporter update communications, surveys and events
  • To develop, monitor and evaluate a complete schedule of communications across all channels to warm supporters to maximise income generation in the short, medium and long term
  • To monitor and evaluate products on an ongoing basis against KPIs and share successes and learnings
  • Develop relationships with individuals to enable their stories to be used to enhance fundraising communications
  • Test and monitor the recruitment of new supporters across multiple channels and roll out as appropriate
  • Work closely and manage any third party agencies that are delivering activity
  • To test, develop, monitor and evaluate new products such as regular giving and events/community fundraising.
  • Develop and deliver marketing plans for community and events activities and monitor engagement rates
  • Maximise data capture into the organisation and proactively support the development of a single CRM
  • Ensure that all fundraising activities are legally compliant particularly with regard to data protection, gambling and gift aid
  • To deal with complaints in a proactive and sensitive way, ensuring compliance with FRSB

Essential candidate criteria:

  • Extensive experience in delivering direct marketing activities (essential) and some experience of/exposure to events/community fundraising
  • Experience in developing project management documents including business/communications/ marketing plans and timelines
  • Experience of working across all channels and delivering cross channel campaigns including mail, email, SMS, phone, web and social media
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluating activities and taking learnings into future projects
  • Experience of working cross organisationally to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to budget
  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Is able to analyse activities/budgets and is able to develop and manage processes and data effectively
  • Is results focused and has energy and enthusiasm for fundraising and is able to act as a fundraising ambassador internally
  • Is proactive and recognizes opportunities to increase income or become more efficient
  • Enjoys talking to donors and explaining the importance of our work
