Job Description

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service. With lifeboats, lifeguards, safety advice and flood rescue, we are committed to saving lives.

As part of the RNLI’s fundraising strategy, ambitious income goals have been set across Corporate, Philanthropy and Trusts; known together as the Key Investment Team. These three teams are now working closely together to facilitate joint prospecting, cultivation and networking with a combined target of £8M.

The Key Investment Research Manager is based within the RNLI’s Research team which works alongside the RNLI’s Operations Research Unit and the Data Analysis team to ensure the RNLI has the research, evidence and analysis required to make sound organisational decisions. You will help to contribute to an expanding analytical community at the RNLI, which is providing expert social, operational and market research for customers at all levels of the organisation. This role is an opportunity to provide the research and analysis which will help one of the UK’s largest charities to deliver against our goals and save more lives.

We are looking for an experienced individual who will lead and manage the key investment research programme ensuring evidence is sound, robust, fit for purpose and that customer requirements are met. You will build strong and successful relationships with key investment fundraisers, promoting the role of research in organisational decision making, ensuring the Key Investment team have the evidence required to deliver a sustained and growing stream of income to the RNLI.

This role would ideally suit someone who has good people and project management skills, enjoys working proactively across teams, knowledge of research and fundraising, and has a high attention to detail.
